1968 Porsche 911, with a 1982 Porsche body on it and a 1972 engine and transmission. $12,500 and I do have to say, I like what I see.

Nice price unless you could build your own for as much or cheaper, yes? Or is this blasphemy we are looking at?

I like what I see as well....Don’t mind if I snatch this one up.

U WOT M8, I’LL SNATCH YOU UP.

That’s the part that I can’t really tell about. It’s like three different 911s fused into one 911.
You probably couldn’t build one yourself for cheaper, especially considering the price that they’re bringing in even in poor condition.

I'd drive the shit out of it!!!!

I’d probably DD it.

Right?!? NP all the way. And a legit 911 that could be a DD without worry of ruining a collector vehicle. I think it's sick.

That’s another upside. As you touched on above, it wouldn’t be sacrilegious if you daily drove it since it’s not technically one thing or the other. Plus it’s simple enough to service on your own and it’s not complicated enough, like modern cars in the event that something needs to be done specific to that particular vehicle.
If I could get the price down to $9,000-$10,000 I’d have to go for it.

Frankenstein 911

Whenever someone advertises what they spent, it means CP. All those add-ons likely mean trouble down the road (yes, I said that). I would not buy it at any price - you can get a safer Porsche for the same money.

But probably not a 911!

Sketchy!
First, tagged as “ 1968 PORSH”
But also the “I am sell for a friend” and lack of actual details.

So a Boxster (with better dynamics) is a let down?

Haha, it’s also been for sale for quite a long time also. It was updated recently though, I guess it’s worth looking into a little bit more though.

“HAS A SIX CABARATIOR MOTOR.”
Uhh, okay?

IF HE’S YELLING, THAT MEANS THAT EVERYTHING THAT HE SAYS IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If its as clean as it looks and runs, worth every penny! And when the motor blows or you get bored a full restoration whale-tail 911 (check VIN to see if it was a real 911!?!) means the car could appreciate with a little TLC.

Yup, I may look into it as long as it checks out as legitimate.
Thanks for the tips!
The only potential problem that I could see is bad workmanship. He claims that it was all done by Porsche though

I’m just concerned that I’ll have a hard time getting cabaratior rebuild kits for this thing. You think the Porsh dealer could order them?

I think so, yes.

I drove a mid-90s 911, and it was difficult to keep the tail in line on the corners. I drove an early 2000s Boxster - admittedly on a less demanding road - and it was easy to keep it in line. I don’t think a Boxster is a compromise, I think it’s the solution to the 60s engineers who put the engine in the wrong place. But that just me ....
